A Most Unofficial RASFWRJ Plot Contest in anticipation of the forthcoming novel, The Path of Daggers, by Robert Jordan.
FINAL RESULTS
Fall 1998
So, the entries were collected, presented, and now the results are in. Voters were asked to vote the best entry for each of the following categories.
Most Plausible: That is, the entries that detail events that could possibly, and even likely, occur that way in tPoD, as judged by the voters.
Most Humorous: Pretty self explanatory. The entries that the voters found the most amusing. Note, it is possible for an entry to be both most humorous and most plausible.
Most Novel: Predictions for plot events that are presented in an intriguing or unusual way. As an example, a previous winner for this category was a series of predictions written in the style of "High Chant."
Most "RJ-esque": Entries that are written in a way that is consistent with Robert Jordan's tone, style, and use of the word "neckline," and could be deemed to have been written by the Creator himself.
Most Successful Usage of "sniffing" and "crossing arms beneath breasts": If you're at all familiar with Jordan's work, you'll understand.
Most Entertaining Usage of "MPS": An "in-joke" if ever there was one.
With respect to issues of copyright infringement, a few points. I am conducting this contest under the assumption that this is acceptable to Tor Publishing and RJ, since the previous contests were allowed to proceed without objection. It also bears mentioning that there is a link on Tor's own official webpage to the home of the contest results, so it is likely that Tor is aware of these contests, and doesn't find them problematic.
