Since 1991, I've been a rabid reader of Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. When I first started wandering the Internet, I stumbled across rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan, and that completely hooked me. I lurked for just over a year, and have been a regular poster since March 1998.
This diverse, raucous, witty, bawdy and intelligent group of people has a fondness for parties, dubbed "Darkfriend Socials", after a scene in Book Two of the series, The Great Hunt. I've met some of my best friends on RASFWRJ, the Socials are a great way to get together and have fun!

Thanks to a rather unfortunate incident with the USPS, in which they LOST MY CAMERA, the pictures I took at Kenn's 2001 New Year's Social are lost forever. Fortunately enough, Pam Korda sent a few pictures along and I actually did write a Social report, so once I get my act together, I will post those here.
Chicago (March 26th, 1999) I unfortunately forgot my camera and no one else had one, but you can check out the list of attendees here. I might write a report eventually.
