The best thing about celebrating the holidays with friends is that you can relax! No trying to be nice to the sister in-law you can't stand, no biting your tongue when the idiot cousin opens his mouth, no putting on the happy face, even though you want to scream - just putting your feet up and enjoying the company of good friends.
This is what I had in mind when I asked Kenn and Madhu to spend Thanksgiving with me and my family - Madhu had successfully defended his doctoral thesis mere days before, he was in need of some stress-free time!. Steve Ginter had planned to come in the day after, so I figured we might as well call a Social. (At the last minute, Steve wasn't able to come, and he was much missed.)
Anne Willick and Dave Rothgery joined us the day after Thanksgiving for a weekend of doing...well, not much of anything but relaxing, eating, and demolishing a rather large bottle of Tequila. We did take a trip to the Toledo Zoo's annual Christmas light display and had a leisurely dinner at the Grape Leaf Diner, but for the most part, we just hung out at home. Of course, there are a few pictures...
